FALLING TO PIECES.
It’s like having your favorite ice cream, only a lot less melty: shopping at Thrift Town is a complete treat for me, and I treat myself often. Anyone who knows me is aware that working with and writing for Thrift Town isn’t just a job, but that I actually believe in the company, what it stands for, and its involvement in the community…oh, and I LOVE shopping there for wardrobe and household alike.
Recently, I received a $50 gift card to Thrift Town, and was so excited to have a no-agenda shopping trip. I was thrilled at the amount of great stuff I was able to get for under $50. Seems that my friends are always surprised at what I can get for so little at Thrift Town, so I decided to show you what I was able to get with my $50, with $10 left over!
Going into fall soon, much of the wardrobe pieces I found
are great for layering in the upcoming colder weather.

Fun, stretchy, and super comfy - great for layering with a bit of color.
. . . . . . . .

Dress it up or down - this frolicky floral hits right above the knee.
You can add leggings and a casual top, or tights, a blouse and heels.
The sweet button detailing makes this versatile fall staple that much more swoon-worthy.
. . . . . .

Comfortable white & creme long-sleeve basics for under $2 each? I’ll take it!
Also easy to dress up or down, these tops work with skirts, slacks & heels, or jeans and a casual scarf.
. . . . . .
It’s a wardrobe boost for your bed for under $8.00.
A new set of fancy sheets and super soft pillow cases make for a lovely end-of-day pick-me-up.
. . . . . .
Maybe my favorite item of the whole haul: flat soft black boots with a raised floral design on the sides.
Too excited to not break them in, I actually have been wearing them with with sundresses
and shorts in the warmer weather. BUT, they’ll be perfect with skinny jeans or tights come fall.
. . . . . .
I’m not size XL, but this piece as an oversized top on me is fun to wear off one shoulder with a wide-strapped tank underneath & skinny jeans. The embellishment is it’s own accessory, making this a simple statement piece to wear. The color is also great for fall!
. . . . . .
LOVE this. Limitless possibilities on wearing this sheer lace long-sleeved top over other things.
Dresses, blouses, tanks, belted, tied… excited to get creative with it!
. . . . . .
This too is an oversized top on me, but it’s fodder for my next upcycling project!
The plan is to cut & sew this too-big top into an empire-waisted dress. We’ll see how it goes.
. . . . . .
Soft supple grey leather, an abundance of utility zippers, and a lining full of pockets for $3.99?! *sigh*
. . . . . .
I’m not into buying brand-names for the brand’s sake, but always nice when you pick out something secondhand because you like it, and it turns out to be a brand you like. This particular brand is carried by a couple boutiques I like, dresses there usually $35-45 each. Think I scored with only paying $3.99. This print is so vibrant & fun! Perfect for the hot end of the summer, but easily layered with a cardigan & tights for the colder temperatures.
. . . . . .
Overall, my wardrobe got a huge boost for the summer to fall transition, and I only spent $40!

Love going to that store and I always end up buying 30+ worth of household items, clothes and yes-purses at a great deal…Good quality, probably belong to someone who didn’t need them, were gifts or just had too MUCH Stuff…thank you for all your Thrift Town staff do, they are incredible…
I love your store and I also love your blog. We shop there as often as we can afford too (on a real low budget nowadays) and we are still able to afford to shop there. It is wonderful to know you are just around the corner. Today we are headed there to find and buy a phone for our landline and I already know we will find one at a great price. Thank you THRIFT TOWN
I don’t have a Thrift Town near me, just a Salvation Army, Goodwill and a local store called Community Aid…,but I usually go for a light and medium weight cardigan, blazer in summer/fall colors like blue or red, anything in stripes or polka-dots are also a “do” for me. Of course…everything I get is from my thrift stores!
Keep it thrifty all!
Guess I know where I will be this Labor Day. My absolute favorite thrift store in town. On my last trip I found a gorgeous red cocktail gown for, ready, 1.99$!!!! It’s like Christmas whenever I go. Such a well organized store and great helpful staff. I feel so lucky to have a Thrift Town right here in Sac!
It makes us happy to hear from satisfied Thrift Town customers. We agree, it’s hard to not find a LOT of great stuff every time you go in! I personally have quite the purse collection, all purchased from Thrift Town. Feel free to send us pictures of your finds! {kariatthrifttown@gmail.com}
