A SHOE-IN FOR FALL

 

The weather has yet to get the hint that everyone wants it to be fall already, but that hasn’t stopped us from getting our fall shopping on! As if shoe shopping on your own isn’t fun enough, it’s so great when your friends know your shoe size and keep an eye out for cute pairs when they’re out thrifting too. Last week, I got a text message from my friend visiting Texas with a picture of some really cute shoes at Thrift Town. The text said, “NEED??” Affirmative.



… The yellow boots were just for fun. I think. I will laugh so hard if she got those for me too.

Closed-toed, dressy, non-boring business shoes are sometimes hard to find. How did she find three pairs, in my size, great colors and a couple even brand new?! Pretty sure Thrift Town stores are also magic shoe stores.

With this not-quite-fall weather, I put together a thrifted ensemble the other night for Charity Art Auction. As much as I wanted to wear my great new cashmere sweater I found at Thrift Town for $3.99, a sun dress was more in order. A bright pop of color with dark accessories and closed-toed high heeled oxfords made for the perfect end of summer soiree attire.

Maybe when we get back under 95 degrees here in Sacramento I can start wearing all the cute thrifted cardigans I’m dying to layer over my dresses and tights.
