ALL FUN & GAMES

There is a huge DIY craze sweeping Etsy & craft fairs all over: Game Piece Jewelry!

Whether it’s Scrabble or any other game that has tiny letter & number pieces, people are making wearable darling things out of it. If you think about it, game pieces are the perfect size for a pendant - and with letters on them - easily customizable: An “A” pendant for Anna, “B” for Brittany, etc.

As if this wasn’t fun enough, the crafty DIY-savvy took it a step further and figured out a way to not only make customizable letter pendants, but also be able to put any image on it and have a glass-looking finish. Awesome!

{ Aren’t these so cute? }

Personal pictures, logos, words - you name it. If you can get the image that small, the sky’s the limit! You can make these yourself, and it really is up to you how simple or complex you want to make it. For the glass-finished pendants, I found a couple tutorials on how to make them:

In non-Scrabble jewelry, here’s a couple ideas sent in from a customer who made jewelry from a different game.

Take apart the numbers and go to town!

In buying supplies for these projects: first stop, Thrift Town. Second stop, craft store.

There are Etsy stores & other places online that sell Scrabble & other game pieces in bulk for just this kind of project… but honestly, they’re going to thrift stores and buying secondhand games at really low prices & then marking them up for you. Cut out the middle-man/woman and go searching through the game section at your local Thrift Town yourself. You might find more than you set out to and come up with some great crafty ideas of your own!
