Pastel Perfect.
There’s something about soft colors & sheer fabrics that really works.
This adorably peachy look comes via a great site called Chictopia. On this site, girls (and guys) can create a profile and upload pictures of their outfits. They then categorize each look, (evening-wear, afternoon out, etc) and list each part of the outfit, making it really easy for me to find every Chictopia fashionista who’s rockin Thrift Town style. And let me tell you - there’s a lot of them. Thrift Town makes it really easy for the thrift saavy to be hip. Many of the participants on sites like Chictopia are also bloggers (thrift & vintage bloggers!) and are able to get more exposure by having their darling outfits be searchable on this big site. This is Liz Cherkasova, and she has a blog called PopCultureAfternoon. If you like this look, check out her blog & show her some love!
In this particular look, the girly pink skirt is from Thrift Town (originally from H&M). Our fashionista goes by playingwithfire on Chictopia, and said, “This look is the result of my wanting to look like a giant pastel cupcake.” Well, I don’t know about a cupcake, but it sure is sweet.

While I like getting inspiration from certain sites, I definitely don’t “fit in” on Chictopia or Lookbook. I am forever shocked at the lack of representation from plus sized people, and then I make the mistake of reading comments posted to someone larger than average. A friend and I were discussing it and it came down to a “chicken or the egg” scenario- are plus sized people underrepresented due to lack of purchasing dollars, or do plus sized people avoid vintage and thrift shopping because of the pointed exclusion that seems inherent in the community?
Either way, I love the color palette of this look and might try to put something similar together before I run out of summer to enjoy it in!
Very cool! I actually do most of my shopping at my local Thrift Town. I love it! I’ve even mentioned it a couple times on my blog with a link to your store. Keep up the good work. You can check out my blog at:
