Celebrate in Style

This February has been a month full of love and celebration. We shared the DIY love a few weeks ago, last week - new Thrift Town logo-wear online shop launched, and this week, we celebrated not only president’s day, but our 40th anniversary as a company! WHEW! (check out our FB page for fun pics from the Thrift Town crews for the anniversary.)

I don’t know about you, but I love when celebration requires getting all dressed up. I was asked to be a part of a special Arts Education Fundraiser event a couple weeks ago, and was going to have to be on stage in front of a big crowd of swanky arts patrons. I needed something new and glamorous to wear, but didn’t have a ton to spend. I headed to Thrift Town (cutting it close, the day before the event!) and for under $20 for the entire outfit, was able to pull off a super glam look. I got so many compliments - there’s no way anyone would have guessed it was secondhand, much less under $20.

{ a little red lipstick goes a long way.}

The faux fur had black satin ribbons on each end,
so I crossed it at the waist and tied the ribbons in the back.
The layered vintage necklace was perfect for the retro look.

Every girl needs that perfect little black dress,
and let me tell you, this one is wonderful!
It was comfortable, a subtle pattern for interest,
can sit just a tad off the shoulder, and then there’s the back…

If I didn’t already love this dress, I couldn’t resist once I saw the back.

And what outfit would be complete without the perfect shoes?

I may have done a ridiculous little happy dance with jazz hands
in the aisle when I tried these on and they fit perfectly.
So here’s the breakdown, I wasn’t kidding - I really did get the whole outfit for under $20!

This outfit total: $16.96
Perfect little black dress: $2.99
Faux fur: $3.99
Vintage necklace: $1.99
Gold/Creme heels: $7.99
