OFFICIAL STATEMENT in regards to Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Efforts

Roseville, CA., September 7, 2005 - Norquist Salvage Corporation/Thrift Town Stores has proudly made a monetary donation to The American Red Cross in order to help fund the immediate relief efforts being made for victims of Hurricane Katrina.  Our country is experiencing one of our biggest national disasters in history, and our hearts are with all of the people who are suffering from this terrible tragedy. In addition, our retail stores will gladly accept official disaster relief vouchers or authorized credit cards issued by The American Red Cross or The Department of Homeland Security.

Norquist Salvage Corporation/Thrift Town Stores takes great pride in our continuous ability to make a difference and to help others. Please understand that the buy/sell contracts we have with our seven nonprofit partners guarantee a majority of profit to our charity partners.  These contracts prevent us from simply giving product away and/or offering further discounts. Our nonprofit partners who depend greatly on our ability to raise funds to meet their growing needs are: The Arc of Texas, The Arc of New Mexico, The Arc of Utah, Community Assistance for the Retarded and Handicapped, Inc., Lifehouse, The Arc of San Francisco, and The Sacramento Association for the Retarded.

We are doing everything possible to help in the on-going disaster relief efforts, but we cannot give product away or offer additional discounts to customers claiming to be victims and/or helping victims of Hurricane Katrina.   We have made a donation to The American Red Cross to help in their relief efforts, and we are doing all that we can to support those in need during this national disaster. Our hearts go out to the victims of this national emergency, and we are proud to offer our assistance and full cooperation with the Disaster Relief efforts.
