Slipcover a secondhand couch from Thrift Town!

CAN’T AFFORD A NEW COUCH?
Slipcover an old one from *Thrift Town for a fresh new look. Buying an old couch plus a new slipcover is still much easier on the pocketbook than buying new. Slipcovers usually range from $70-$300 depending on where you buy them. I bought this slipcover at Target for under $100 or surefit.com is also a good source for slipcovers. I found the slipcover great at concealing the peanut butter stains that wouldn't come out, and it updated the look of the couch. Best yet, you can (usually) throw slipcovers in the wash to clean them. They're great for homes with kids and pets.

* Although slipcovers do conceal a damaged couch, our charity partners do their best to only pick up couches for sale at Thrift Town that are in sellable condition without a slipcover.

TIPS:
• The directions for putting on a slip cover are very easy to follow. You just slip it on and tuck it in.
• Buy the wedgy things that they sell in the catalogues to secure the cover in place. They really do work.
• Coordinating pillows are almost always available. Splurge, they give your couch a pulled together look. P.S. I got the velvet pillow at Thrift Town for about $1.00. • Thrift Town couches with new slipcovers are a great alternative to buying a new piece of furniture
