Thrift Town + CARH = Making a Difference.

Did you realize that just by shopping at Thrift Town, you’re not only being green and saving green, but you’re also supporting people with special needs in your community?


Thrift Town’s three East Bay stores and three Sacramento stores are proud to partner with the charity CARH, that provides services for people with special needs, and this past Saturday, we couldn’t have been prouder!

CARH is based in California, and has been in the Bay Area for over 30 years. They have recently come to Sacramento and in order to celebrate their clients there and raise money for their cause, CARH had a fabulous fashion show fundraiser at The Hilton.

For the fashion show, the models were clients of CARH who have special needs, and they were all styled by yours truly & Liz Crawford from CARH, in 100% Thrift Town looks! It was a Cruise to Greece theme for the afternoon’s festivities, and CARH & Thrift Town pulled out all the stops.

This is an annual event (Saturday being the 2nd annual) so plan now to get involved and come out for a great time next year. But for now, here’s a peek into this fabulous event!


The staff at CARH have such a genuine love for their clients. They put everything into having a fun event that the clients could enjoy. Wendy Steinmetz was on hand, representing Thrift Town, and was the energetic emcee for the day. She was also styled head to toe in Thrift Town fashion - way to represent!

The CARH clients were pampered & polished by: Emily Hunt (of EmilyHuntBeauty) who did all the gorgeous models’ hair, and The Body Shop, who did their makeup. In addition to the wonderful hair & makeup artists, we were so happy to have Jeannine Mengel Photography capturing all the great moments of this event. Thank you ladies - you gave the CARH clients a beautiful day to remember.

We had very talented Greek dancers who came & wowed us with their flair and skill. So much fun! And for the esteemed guests - an auction & raffle! So many Sacramento businesses generously donated to CARH’s cause, and the winners couldn’t have been more thrilled.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this event possible. CARH’s clients are so blessed to have amazing events to come to, and people who care so much.

Thrift Town’s 3 East Bay Area locations and 3 Sacramento Area locations purchase all of their merchandise exclusively from CARH. The funds generated through this long-standing partnership make up most of CARH’s operating budget and allow CARH to serve people with special needs in the communities they serve.
