THE THRIFTED KITCHEN: COORDINATED PIECES FOR LESS

Posted on by Kari      1 Comment

Thrifting is an art. It’s possible to find amazing quality pieces for less, and pull together a
sweet collection of coordinated kitchen items without spending a ton. It might take a little
time and patience, but it’s totally worth it. As it’s literally been years in the making, I don’t
have exact prices on everything featured here, but I will say I know I’ve never spent more
than $10 on anything thrifted for my kitchen. Most things fall in the $0.99 - $3.99 range.

Years ago I had an idea of my dream kitchen, and even though I definitely didn’t have it at
the time, I kept my eye out for pieces that would fit that look: stainless steel + black, white,
and warm browns and a tiny pop of rustic red.

In February we moved into our gorgeous new house, with our dream kitchen (!!!) and it’s
exciting how beautifully all of our thrifted pieces fit into the upgraded look. Years of
having our look honed and thrifting everything piece by piece has paid off.

Cute mugs + black/stainless steel coffee maker (with single-cup & full-pot option)
is EXACTLY what I need first thing in the morning. My chalkboard fridge (that I painted
myself: posted HERE) is the perfect changeable backdrop for my groggy toddler-filled
mornings. You have to remember to laugh. 🙂

Black/SS canisters for protein powder, and my DIY chalkboard
painted glass canister for coffee round out my happy morning corner.

The rest of my canisters are across the kitchen by the stainless steel
paper towel dispenser I found at Thrift Town just last week for $2.99,
and I later found it online for almost $20.

Tea kettle for $0.99 instead of $8.99 or $17.99? Yes please.

This black wine rack is the perfect size and look for our kitchen. Under $3.

This little $0.49 orange/brown textured glass,
and the wine & bottle utensils were all under $1 each.

This is not even counting our silverware, big knives, countertop food scale, ALL of my big bowls and serving trays, and OH the toddler stuff: dishes, sippy cups & utensils… it pays to thrift. And now that we have our beautiful new space to fill, it’s that much easier to spot the pieces that would fit in here perfectly.
