Summertime is upon us so very soon, and brings with it all the color and splash we love.
When dressing a little one (and yourself!) for summer, florals are almost always a great
way to go. But when wearing fun florals, what do you pair with it? Denim ON TOP.

Here’s the exciting part when I was shopping — it seems to be hard to find a great PLAIN
denim jacket for a little one. So much of the girl denim has sparkles, embroidered flowers,
cutesy phrases or cartoon characters all over it. I just want a simple denim jacket that my
girl can wear over ANYTHING, without all the fussy frill. I was stoked to find this OshKosh
denim jacket for $3.99! Hello summertime layering! This piece can practically just live in
the car to throw over anything all season.

For the Momma side of things, I have had an equally difficult time finding a denim vest for
myself — most I found were either bedazzled, cheap looking and overdone, or they were
way too heavy and stiff vintage pieces. I am happy I didn’t settle and kept my eye on the
prize for the perfect vest, cause this is lightweight, perfectly distressed (without being
DESTROYED) and no bells and whistles, AKA I can wear it over anything.

See? Denim over the soft floral is perfect.

Here’s the easy momma version - I’ve had this awesome floral dress for years, purchased
at Thrift Town for under $2, and it has gone through my pregnancy and back with me. A
cute classic, just right for this almost-summer weather with the denim vest and strappy
black sandals.
