CRAZY TOY HAUL: how we saved $620 on an AWESOME train set

It’s one of my general (personal) parenting rules to not even dip my toe into the
pool of “expensive hobbies”, cause even if you buy things one piece at a time, it
can get addicting and well, expensive. My nephew LOVES trains, and had been
wanting a cool train set for awhile, but that kind of thing definitely falls in the
“expensive” category. The add-ons, train cars, tracks stations… I had no idea
how expensive, just that it wasn’t cheap.

THEN WE HAD AN INCREDIBLE THRIFT TOWN FIND.

A set of tracks, stations, add-ons, trains, and literally all the bells and whistles.
We were over the moon for our train-loving boy to have a nice set. Below are
the pictures of the set with the prices we found on Amazon, Ebay and other
online sellers. I couldn’t believe how much this stuff costs!

the wooden tracks (without the center piece) range from $10 - $36 each.

The Wheel House track splitter with the yellow roof goes online for $50.

This is just a sampling of the trains we got, online ranging from $12 - $18 each.

THIS FIRE STATION: holy cow —
it sells online for $215.00! It’s got little motors and bells…

The magnetized cargo crane on the right goes for $20, and the little bridge $10.

Here’s a look at the full set-up, with a handful of the trains not pictured.
The circular mountain pass area (bottom Left) goes for $75

Literally hours of fun a day - best kid toy we’ve ever had.

With all of the tracks, trains, buildings and add-ons added up,
our tally if we had bought every piece separately online was a staggering $656.00!
WE PAID ONLY $36 FOR THE ENTIRE SET.
That’s a $620 savings, and a 95% discount.

I’ve had some pretty major scores over the years at Thrift Town
but this one beats them all by a mile. We couldn’t be happier to
have such a great set for the kids in our family to grow up with.
And you’d better believe we’re gonna be on the lookout for
more train stuff to add to the killer set we already have.

Do you find great kid’s toys at Thrift Town??
