Upcycled Tulip Skirt

Posted on by Hailey      No Comments

This last week has felt like summer, which made me realize that my summer wardrobe is severely lacking! I recently saw a cute wrap skirt in a popular retail store but it was $50!!! I decided to make my own out of a skirt I bought at Thrift Town.

Tulip Skirt

Step 1: Choose a skirt. I used a skater skirt that I had bought at Thrift Town for $2.99!

Step 2: Cut a straight line from the bottom hem to the waistband of your skirt. (Do not cut the waistband.) Continue to cut along the waistband on both sides until the front half of the skirt is completely open.

Step 3: Trim a strip about 5 inches wide off of both sides of the skirt.

Step 4: Pin the cut portion on one side of the skirt to the waistband. Make sure it reaches all the way across.

Step 5: Repeat with the other side.

Step 6: Sew it in place and wear!

I hope you guys enjoyed my blog,
