THRIFTING FOR LITTLES SECRET + SPRING WARDROBE HAUL
We are only weeks away from the official start of Spring, but here in California it definitely feels like Spring already. We had a couple warm days and decided to bust out the warmer weather gear. The way I shop for my daughter is: every time I go to Thrift Town, I go through ALL the little girl’s clothing that is her current size and larger (up to 5T). That way, I don’t miss any affordable gems that could be great to have later on.
Even though it’s almost Spring, and Olive won’t be 2 years old til July, just last week I bought an awesome pink 3T winter coat for under $4.00. Before she was born I bought a bunch of big plastic tubs that stay in the garage, marked for all her upcoming ages, and have shopped this way since then. I just added the new pink coat to the 3T box and will be happy to have it when she gets that big.
Every new season is kind of like Christmas with our clothes shopping system,
because we get the tub down and have a whole new set of cute clothes to wear.
These are just a few of the fun patterned shorts in our current sized bin. All the
shorts at Thrift Town are under $2, so this whole set would have been under $10.
Gotta love basics. She can wear any of her cute patterned tops or onesies with these.
(also under $2 each)
Few things are cuter than tiny little girl shoes. Olive just started letting me paint
her lil toes pink, and I can’t wait to show them off with fun sandals. All under $2.
The skirts are all under $3, and I always stock up on little patterned & solid
colored diaper covers ($0.49-$0.99) too, to go under them for my busy climbing
girl. I’m so excited for all our “new” Spring clothes! Bought over the course of a few
years, it’s fun to see everything come together in our 18-24mo thrifted collection.
