Cheers to a new year!! The holiday season is officially over (we can all breathe again) and we start yet another year! With the new year comes new experiences, new year’s resolutions (aka getting back into shape) and a new color of the year! However, this year is different because there are TWO new colors for the year ~ Serenity and Rose Quartz!

 

Just like its name, the color Serenity exudes calm and a sense of harmony with its peaceful blue and purplish hue. Serenity is essentially periwinkle in color with a higher concentration of blue than purple, and is an absolutely stunning color! I began to search for a few items to add to my wardrobe and came up with some great blouses.

 

The first item is a flowy blouse with ¾ length sleeves. It is totally comfortable and reflects the darker side of the serenity spectrum. This casual yet graceful shirt is the perfect piece for your winter wardrobe and stays on trend with the color-of-the-year concept.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The second item I found was a striped serenity & white button-down shirt! I rolled up the sleeves, tucked the front tails and wore with a pair of jeans… The result was a cute and causal look perfect for just about any day! The shirt is on the lighter side of the serenity spectrum but still sports that harmonious hue. This chic shirt was just $3.99 at Thrift Town and is a total winner!

 

The second color-of-the-year, Rose Quartz, is a sweet pale pink and almost has a translucent vibe. I found a rose quartz trio including a cami ($.99), a lacey back-button-up blouse ($4.99) and a cardigan ($3.99). I actually really like how this rose quartz inspired outfit turned out as the color is dainty and delicate but can still be worn with dark jeans and boots.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Another color-of-the-year idea is to wear rose quartz jewelry! Rose quartz jewelry provides the perfect accent color for almost any outfit and adds softness to the whole look! I’ve seen some great pieces online (see links below) and now my next thrift store hunt will include a search for rose quartz jewelry!
