Thailand Inspired Note Books ~
After recently visiting Thailand, I learned, saw, and experienced a whole new world that I found extremely fascinating. The amazing experience of living there for the past month was indescribable really. Something that always caught my eye after traveling from town to town was the beautifully patterned notebooks. They were all hand made there in Thailand and had that uniqueness about them because every pattern was different.
Being in college note books are very helpful; for me, going to art school notebooks are a must (as well as an obsession). I was in heaven with all the different prints and variations of notebooks that it got me thinking, with all the extra fabric of the clothing I alter, I could make my own! I have so many note books and sketch books already as well as fabric from clothing at Thrift Town that it was the perfect project. I always keep the fabric from dresses or shirts that I find appealing because you never know how it can be re-used! Well, looks like I found one way!
First find a fabric you like, could be material from anything! I like to check the dress, sheet, pillow or blanket section at Thrift Town. Those sections always have fun surprises when I look! I found this amazingly fun, black and white fabric from a dress that I had altered and found at Thrift Town!
Next, measure the fabric so the outside of the book gets completely covered.
Then put a thin layer of glue all over the cover and press it down on the fabric, then do the same for the back cover. Then cover over the edges and hot glue the excess on the inside.
Let dry for 24 hours and whaaaalaaaaa!! You have your very own one of a kind, Thailand themed note book or sketch book!! Enjoy 🙂

Being a starving student, she has come to realize thrifting is a great way to save money yet still look fashionable, and Thrift Town makes that possible! #alisblog - See more at: https://thethrifttown.com/2015/12/26/layer-on-layer/#sthash.TFYHOsLD.dpuf

Very nice and easy enough for the “crafting challenged” such as myself could even try. Thanks!
Great, I’m glad you’re inspired to try it! Enjoy -
