HAND-MADE TINY THEATER: finger puppet fun
Before I had kids, I didn’t really “collect” anything except classic children’s books,
which is part of the kids thing. Now, we have quite a few collections that literally
grow by the week, and one of my favorites is our puppets. Toys that are designed
with engaging with your kids in mind are some of my (and her!) favorite things.
I find a new hand puppet about once a month when perusing at Thrift
Town, but I hit the jackpot this week! I took a chance on a big clear plastic bag
that had 2 full-sized hand puppets and a little cloth house in it for $1.99…
Unassuming little house that turned out to be the clown car of tiny houses…
Inside the house: Hello barnyard friends!
And the royal court of merry men (er, animals)
These 3 scragglers that didn’t really belong with the others,
but definitely have their slice of the fun, AND…
THESE GUYS. What a jackpot of puppet silliness. The circus is in town!
I was over the moon with my $1.99 find, and started in on my cardboard hand
cut-outs to display and gift them on… and a week later I was out thrifting
and couldn’t believe what I found.
A POP-UP FINGER PUPPET THEATER. Whaat?? $2.99
So for under $5 total I got 2 full-sized hand puppets,
16 finger puppets and a theater to put on our silly productions.
If you have kids and you’re not shopping thrift, you’re paying TOO MUCH.
Hope you all have an amazing Christmas, and enjoy time with your family!
XO Kari (& Olive)
