Tin’s the Season

The holidays are upon us! If you love to recycle and find that you have an abundance of cookie tins, they make cute decor and gift boxes! Thrift Town has great tins for low prices.

I bought these festive cookie tins (ranging from $0.50 to $1.50) because I thought that they would make great gift boxes and display stands.

The first thing I did was spray paint some tins using black chalkboard paint! I left one or two how they were because I liked the artwork already on them.

Using chalkboard paint means that the tins can be decorated with personal artwork or a message, so I left a cute gift for Santa Claus under my tree!

Next, I made two stands using the lids separately from the bottoms of the tins; the method is the same for both.

Step 1: (After spray-painting your tins) Line the inside of the tin using decorative tape or paper.

Step 2: Hot glue lace, pom-poms or any decorative trim around the outside rim.

Step 3: Hot glue a glass with a long stem (preferably metal) to the underside of the tin.

Step 4: Stack your layers and fill them with accessories, sweets, or snacks!

I hope you guys enjoyed my blog,

Happy Holidays!
