HOW TO: COORDINATED FLANNEL OUTFITS
FALL WALK FLANNEL
I’m all about traditions, and in my favorite season there are a BUNCH. The other day
we had one of my absolute favorites: THE FALL WALK. A big group of ladies get
together with their little people (I used to be one of said little people) and go on a walk
to look at and gather up the beautiful fall colors. Leaves, berries, pretty rocks…
And we come back to my mom’s house and make fall crafts and decorations with our
finds, while enjoying homemade soup, scones and tea. Sounds like heaven, right?
It is.
Here’s my look (and hers) from our rad fall walk.
Start with the classics. A soft fitted red flannel -
it’s a wardrobe staple, especially for fall ($1.99).
Add in layers — this cozy sweatshirt-fabric cropped jacket ($5.99), and a pop of
yellow with the celtic knot head wrap (my tutorial here) with some thrifted
shades ($1.99) & a big yet simple statement ring. Dark wash jeans ($2.99)
and flat black booties ($5.99) round it out.
I’ve posted about coordinated outfits with my girl before. It’s not so much an
overtly intentional choice, but more a one-track outfit mind. I get done picking
out my clothes and just keep putting together the outfit in her closet.
To keep it from being too literally MATCHED I put her plaid on the
bottom ($0.99), with a super cute gifted Carter’s black blouse on the top.
ACCESSORIES:
This necklace of mine is knotted & safe for her to wear around, and she LOVES it.
Red rosette hat ($1.49) is the statement piece for sure. I’ve posted on this little
grey peplum cardigan - major staple piece. Gifted red maryjanes finish it off.
BEST day. Her 2nd fall walk, but her first year really getting to get out and enjoy it.

All our adorable littles - We got them all to sit together with our homemade
Scarecrow, and sit still long enough to get a group shot — IT’S A MIRACLE!
I thought the Fall Walk was amazing as a kid. But it’s even better getting
to share something I have always loved with all our sweet little ones. To see
the wonder and excitement of falling leaves and looking for all the colors…
such a joy.
