Knack for Knits//

Sweater season is the best season. The air is crisp, the days are shorter, and the cravings for hot chocolate are endless. It’s official sweater season is here. For me, I love having a variety of sweaters to either layer, wear out, or cuddle up in with a book and a cup of coco. The only problem is… sweaters are expensive!! I mean it makes sense because of the warmth and joy they bring BUT sometimes its not worth it. I found that one thing solves this problem, THRIFT TOWN! After going to Thrift Town all my needs are satisfied and my excessive sweater collection begins. I feel quite talented, like I have a knack for finding sweaters every fall season. Over the many years of shopping at Thrift Town I’ve found plenty of sweaters and cardigans but my latest were what I’m most excited about.

First, I found this cute green and white speckled, cropped cardigan sweater that has one button in the middle connecting the sides. I love this one because it’s thick to keep me warm, and it’s cropped which is perfect for all my high waisted jeans I wear. $4.99

Next I found this slouchy over the shoulder sweater in a beige with two side pockets. I love this one because it’ll look great layered over dress tees with a pair of leggings and boots. Perfect Fall outfit! $5.99

Lastly, I found this black and white, BP (Nordstrom brand) cardigan that is almost knee length and also has pockets on the sides. I love the aztec patterns this cardigan has, making it very unique and spices up any solid colored outfit! $9.99

  1. Love sweaters! I love altering outdated sweaters, oh, I can work a sweater! And I like getting new life out of it for another year. I was given some bulky black sweaters a few years ago. One sweater had a Cowell neck, I’m not big on that look. I cut the Cowell neck off, right after the seam. I then turn the Cowell inside out, bunch the open top and sew it up. When I turn it back on the right side, I have a great slouch cap. I sometimes cut the sleeves off, and make a neck scarf. It is several different ways of doing that. It usually takes four sleeves from two sweaters, that are about the same color. I have a unique way of sewing them together. The vest that is left, after you cut the sleeves can be worked into a funky little vest, with one button at the top. You can line it with a sweat shirt, you don’t wear anymore. Sweaters are real cool, and the more I get into recycling the more creative I become. Season’s Greetings!
