‘Fall’ing into October
Fall is finally among us and this past week has certainly felt like the season. Not only was the weather much cooler, but the leaves are starting to change to glowing yellows, oranges, and reds. The rain even made an appearance this week! I’d be lying if I didn’t say that the fall weather has me happy and jumping for fashionable fall joy. I’m really excited for October and all the wonderful outings and outfits!
This week was a busy one for me and I had the awesome opportunity to do two tv segments this week promoting fall fashion trends, Pantone colors, and accessories! I love nothing more than sharing my knowledge for affordable fashion with people. TV provides me with the perfect platform to reach a much larger audience. Thrifting has been my favorite thing to do for as long as I can remember and this week I got to promote it not only once, but twice!
This fall season we can expect to see a lot of fall trends such as high waist bell bottoms, capes, 70s fashion, chinky knit sweaters, hats, and fun Pantone colors. Some great Pantone colors for fall that I am swooning over are Biscay Bay, (teal) Dried Herb, (sage green) Stormy Weather, (grey) Cadmium Orange, & Marsala Red. All of these colors are so rich and quite a few of them pair nicely together like Marsala Red and Dried Herb.
On Monday, I did the fall fashion trends segment and loved the looks I curated. One look in particular that I adored was this vintage cream knit cape with fringe, gold bangle, and wide bell bottom pants. The sweater and bangle were only a $1.99 each at Thrift Town! As I mentioned above, Marsala and Dried Herb go SO well with each other. Check out this stunning multi colored necklace that has both colors in it! Thrift Town. ($1.99!)
This past Wednesday I did another TV segment, but this segment was geared more towards fall accessories and fall Pantone colors.
Accessories that scream fall, to me, are scarves, hats, boots, and tights. For the picture below, we have two great fall looks. I just ADORE the look Julie is wearing. (she is a super talented photographer of Third Wheel Photo) She’s 7 months pregnant and I wanted her to be stylish and comfy. The loose fitting dress was such a Thrift Town score. It was a new with tags on Anthropologie dress. It retailed over $100 and I got it on 1/2 off day for $10. The skinny belt was the perfect accessory to show off her adorable belly. I also included this scarf that had 3 Pantone colors in it: Cadmium Orange, Oak Buff, & Reflecting Pond. The clogs are a total fall trend and the perfect stylish and comfortable shoe for her. The purple scarf on the left is Thrift Town, too. (Dress, hat, clogs, & belt from Thrift Town: $10, $5.99, $5.99, & $1.99 - purple scarf $2.99) Nearly everything on the table picture is from Thrift Town, too! Thrift Town is your perfect stop for accessories this fall! Now it wouldn’t be fall if you didn’t get your perfect cooler weather dress and stylish suit. I am obsessed with this red Ann Taylor dress I found at Thrift Town! The sequin necklace is such a great add on and will be perfect for the holiday season. And can we talk about how friction’ amazing this yellow vintage 60’s suit is?! I almost fainted when I found it (Thrift Town: $9.99 & $1.99, suit $9.99)
Thank you for reading and Happy October! The cooler days are here to stay. Layer up, wear hats, and stay fashionable this season! If you have any styling or thrift questions please feel free to ask me!!!
