HOW TO SUPPLEMENT YOUR THRIFT WITH TRENDS
Monday was national Thrifted Wardrobe day, and I’m pretty proud to say,
my personal wardrobe is preeeeetty close to all thrift. It’s taken years of
honing, and getting comfortable with my shape and style, but every once
in awhile, I get a non-thrifted current trendy piece. The great thing is, you
don’t have to skip thrift to totally look trendy. Sometimes it only takes one piece…
I know that a 100% thrifted wardrobe is a big feat, but you don’t have to be ALL IN to rock it. I built this look around a new piece I got, and used all thrifted pieces to make it work.
This trendy kimono/cardigan thing is easy to throw on and make a
statement, now to build the rest of the look with thrifted pieces.
I kept it all monotone, but mixed it up with textures and metal.
RING: $2.99
SILVER BEADED BRACELET (really a wrapped necklace): $1.99
WHITE STONE + SILVER NECKLACE: $3.99
CHARCOAL FLOWY TANK: $1.49
I’m in love with the texture of these leggings! They have panels of thick meshed fabric,
and just enough sheen to be a bit dressy without having a shiny over-the-top latex look.
The flats are simple and fun, my go-to shoes when I’m wearing silver jewelry.
The pattern/texture keeps it interesting but not too busy.
Overall, a textured comfy polished look. The shoes and tank can easily be switched out for a bold color to keep it interesting and get more bang for your trendy buck. I’m considering trying the kimono with a maxi skirt and tall wedges next.
HOW DO YOU MIX IT UP?
