Celestial Summer Bag

I’m a sucker for cool celestial patterns, so when I spotted some rad shorts at Thrift Town they brightened my day! They unfortunately did not flatter my form so I made them into a bag I could take anywhere!

Celestial Summer Bag

Step 1: Choose a garment or piece of fabric with a unique or interesting pattern. I bought these shorts for $2.99!

Step 2: Cut off any elastic.

Step 3: Cut squares of desired size. Using multiple fabrics makes for a more interesting bag. (save any leftover scraps)

Step 4: Sew a strip of squares together. This will go between the panels and act as a spacer to give your bag more room.

Step 5: Arrange fabric(s) into whichever design you’d like for two panels.

Step 6: Using the scraps, make a strap for your bag. I layered alternating fabrics!

Step 7: Sew it all together and add a closure! I used a snap with a cute moon button.

P.s. Don’t forget to add a liner, mine was an old pillowcase!

I hope you guys enjoyed my blog,
