Here Comes the Sun
Spring is in full swing but the 90+ temperatures this week hint that summer is on its way! This time of year is exciting yet tedious for me. The weather teases and the beach beckons, but instead I am stuck inside the classroom worrying about finals, projects and that last lousy writing assignment. In just a few more weeks, those beach and river days will be a reality!!! Despite needing to trudge through the last few weeks of responsibility, I can still get my wardrobe ready for those coming SUNdays, FUNdays. Here are a few of my spring and summer finds!
Overalls Part 3! Yes, I had a lot of fun last year dip dying and blinging up overalls, but this year I found an off-the-shelf light-wash pair that I LOVE!! All I did was cut off the long legs and roll up the hem. They remind me so much of the ones I wore as a kid. I plan to wear them with another childhood favorite (a pair of salt water sandals!) and a cute and simple baby pink shirt that has delicate lace on the hem of the sleeves. The perfect outfit for a day at the lake!
The second piece I found was a flirty romper that is navy blue with scattered gray and turquoise flowers. This is perfect for a simple summer day and can also be used as a swimsuit cover-up! There are no rules to how you wear a romper so just have fun when you’re wearing it! This romper was only $4.99 at Thrift Town!
Need something casual to wear for a day at the river? Then this is perfect! I found a pair of white drawstring shorts at Thrift Town but had no idea what to do with them! They were longer and kind of had the “mom” vibe going on; so I hemmed them (twice) and made them into a pair of slouchy shorts! I love them because they are super comfortable! I added a graphic tee I got from Thrift Town and a sunhat…taa-daa….great outfit for a day at the river. The shorts were $1.99 and the shirt was $2.99!
