Easy Breezy DRESSing

On a recent trip to MY Thrift Town thrift store located in the beautiful Southwest that is Albuquerque, New Mexico…I saw this sign.

That’s right, I get SPECIAL private parking because I’m a Thrift Town customer! Well, it’s parking for EVERY Thrift Town customer, but I like to think I’m special. Just sayin’…just kidding… 😉 lol What I’m not kidding about is how crowded and CRAZY the parking lot gets on sale days. It’s crowded on Monday’s too, when the Senior’s (age 60+) get their discount…30% off all clothing. That’s the day my husband and I headed to Thrift Town to see what we could find.

This time on my thrift list…what?…you don’t have a thrift list when you shop? I rarely go without one. Having a thrift list keeps me focused and trust me, I need to stay focused or who knows what would happen!!

This time around I was looking for dresses. EASY dresses… ones that I could just throw on and go and look super cute while going, of course!

I found two on this trip.

Nothing says easy breezy dressing more than a t-shirt style dress. This Nicole Miller New York color blocked dress is brand spanking new! I paid $9.09.

I threw it on with a pair of gold sandals but I could have easily thrown on a pair of Converse.

How cute is this brown and ‘turquoise’ necklace that I paired with it? I bought this months ago during one of Thrift Town’s sale days and it goes perfectly with this dress. I paid $2.79 for it.

There’s another one of those ‘selfie’s! The color of the dress is called Emerald Coast. None of these photos really did the color justice.

I styled this next dress two ways for you.

If you read one of my earlier posts, you know that I’m a sucker for stripes. This navy and white striped dress from Loft caught my husband’s eye. He said he liked how it hugged my curves. 🙂 This dress was a little more pricey at $11.19.

First up, the dressier version. I just paired it with black shoes and accessories. Yes, black and navy go together.

This is my favorite way to wear this dress. You can never go wrong with a denim jacket. I scored this Levi’s denim jacket over a year ago. It was brand new and only $8.00! I wear this jacket all. the. time. If you don’t own one yet, I strongly suggest you put it on your thrift list and head to YOUR local Thrift Town to score one of your own.

Happy Thrifting!!

Darlene Fadem is a wife and mother with two boys in college. She’s OBVIOUSLY over 50, hence the name Thrifty Over 50. She admits to being a label hunter when thrifting, but pleads the fifth to everything else. 😉 You can also find her styling looks on her fashion blog for older women whosaprettygirl
