DIY Bohemian Sleeved Jacket \\
This DIY is great for the Spring and the slightly warmer weather up ahead. The lace sleeves add a festival flare to the jacket vest itself which make it the perfect item to wear to a festival, or on any given day with the smell of Spring in the air and blossoms popping up everywhere! I would say this is an intermediate diy project because sewing on sleeves can be quite difficult.
First start out with lace - I found the stretchiest kind so that the sleeves would hang loose and flow-y.
Next I cut out the sleeves of my corduroy jacket right at the seem of each sleeve. I love the detailed pattern on this jack and the color is so electric!
Then I cut out of the lace fabric two sleeves, using the sleeves I just cut off of my original jacket (shown above) as the pattern. After I used those sleeves for a pattern I made sure to cut the end of the sleeve (more towards the wrist) very wide so that it would droop down when I wore it.
After I cut the lace I then sewed the edges to make it a tube (for the arm to go through) and so that the end where my shoulder starts would fit in the vest. I made two of these like shown below. The sewed side is the curved side.
Next I sewed the end of the lace sleeve that connects to vest to that arm section so that I’d have a new fabulous sleeve! I love this design, turned out so cute! Enjoy!
