Stripes…From Day to Night

I’m a sucker for stripes. I have like, five striped shirts. OH-kay…six. Remember, this is a judgement free zone. 😉

On a recent trip to my beloved Thrift Town, located at 3900 Menual Blvd. just east of Carlisle here in Albuquerque, New Mexico, I acquired yet ANOTHER one…

This New York & Company striped t-shirt only set me back $5.59.

It’s hard to tell, but can you see the thin gold stripe in between the black and white stripes? That, along with the gathering along the neckline, sets THIS striped shirt apart from all the rest of the ones I own. Well, that’s how I justified this purchase to my husband. But it’s true.

I wanted to show how this shirt could transition from day to night, just by changing out a few things.

Here is what I paired it with for the ‘day’ look:

Nothing is more ‘on trend’ than putting stripes and florals together. It’s one of my favorite combinations. I’m loving this square, orange floral scarf. It was $2.99.

Guess what brand of jeans these are.

If you guessed ‘Not Your Daughter’s Jeans’ with Lift Tuck Technology, you are absolutely correct!! Guess how much I paid for these high end brand jeans that retail at $100+.

I paid…$4.19!!! Yeah, I’m good…and so are the prices at Thrift Town.

What did I change out to make it more of a ‘night’ look? Well, let’s see.

I changed out my floral scarf for this necklace:

I was super excited when I spotted this INC brand ( sold at Macy’s ) gold, black and white necklace. It was my most expensive item at $7.99.

What brand black skirt is that, you ask?

Zara is THE brand all the fashion bloggers are wearing. I was thrilled to find it! Guess what? It was 50% off that day and I paid $4.00. Yeah…

The total cost of everything you see here was under $27.00. That’s because I shopped on Senior day (Monday) where those ages 60+ get 30% off all clothing. Since my husband is 63 I got the discount!

Oh, you want to see the outfits on me?

Okay! 🙂

Can I just say, that my behind and stomach have never looked so good? These jeans are like wearing a girdle…one that is super comfortable!

Man, that scarf is versatile!

So, have I convinced you that you need to head to Thrift Town and get yourself a striped top? Better hurray…before I buy them all! 😉
