Casual wear for the weekend getaway: 3 outfit ideas
Happy Friday my fellow thrift store lovers! I hope everyone had a lovely Valentine’s Day last weekend and enjoyed the fabulous weather we had in California. I mean 72 degrees in winter? Yes please! I had a friend fly down from Portland and we got in my car and enjoyed the sunny beautiful city of San Francisco on V-Day weekend. Honestly, it was probably one of the most glorious SF days to date. And seeing that Portland is rainy most of the time, the warm sunny weather was medicine for the soul.
Now, you all know that I LOVE to get dressed up, but my weekend away to SF last weekend made me realize that I can’t always be in my dresses and high heels. How do I know this? Well, silly me wore high heeled boots and walked the Golden Gate Bridge back and forth in them. It is 1.7 miles each way! Needless to say, my little feeties hurt and I quickly realized that I needed to be more casual the next day while being a tourist around the city.
The following day I came to my senses and wore jeans, flats, a hat, and a loose t-shirt. Of course I still had to make it fashionable, (it’s in my genetics to style!) but the look was definitely practical and my feet never hurt once while gallivanting throughout SF.
After my SF adventure I started thinking about my next Thrift Town post and decided it would be good to feature three stylish, yet practical casual outfits. I always say that an outfit isn’t an outfit until you’ve accessorized it. So even if you have to go casual, remember that you can always turn it up a notch with a stylish accessory!
I hope you enjoy my looks and don’t forget that your local Thrift Towns are your go to for amazing accessories to spruce up any look. Where are the accessories? They are typically right next to the checkout stations. And the prices are rarely over $9.99.
