It’s that time of year again to spread love all around. I’m one of those mommies who decorate for everything, Valentine’s Day included (and yes, we do even have a leprechaun that visits each year too). Being a mom of three very active bambinos though makes it tough sometimes to carve out the time to do elaborate decorations. So I’ve compiled a few easy to moderately difficult decor ideas to share with you.

Let’s start with the easy. Pretty and self explanatory. Use a thrifted vase to create this centerpiece. Photo courtesy of The Taylor House because my Thrifty Thursday segment doesn’t hit until the 12th of February!

Next up, and relatively simple as well if you do single hearts vs. the 3 dimensional ones shown here. Use a thrifted book and cut out these mini-hearts. These are fun to sprinkle around the house on Valentine’s Day. Or leave in a lunch box or jacket pocket letting your loved one know you’re thinking of them.

Let’s up the anti just a bit and go for moderately difficult:

Use a thrifted frame and glue rosebuds into place. For the Thrifty Thursday segment, I’m actually going to use a chicken-wire frame and use fake roses poked through the chicken wire in a heart pattern. Just depends on your style. Either would be cute decor pieces.

Next up, a queen of hearts swag using a thrifted deck of cards or two. Take all the heart suits from the deck and punch a hole in the top corners of each card. String them using ribbon or twine and use as a swag on your mantle or over a mirror or door. Very cute!

Saved the most difficult for last. Use thrifted candlesticks and create a heart topiary. The book hearts maybe cute on this project too. Get a foam ball and some push pins and have at it. Again, using a Pinterest inspriation shot here as my project is still in the works. For a full DIY though, click HERE.

Happy thrifting!
