Four ways to Onesie - Thrifted Baby Style
PATTERN ISSUES.
I have a major beef with the people who make baby clothes. I know most people are big fans of little matching sets that are covered in cutesy designs (and I’ve had my fair share) but I prefer to have PIECES, instead of sets. I enjoy making outfits for my daughter as I do for myself. The problem is, it is near impossible to find pieces that don’t have some kind of crazy design, cartoon character, embroidered flowers on the pockets or (gasp) rhinestones. OY VEY. What’s a broke stylist momma to do?
You’d better believe that when I do find plain, unadorned, simple pieces I’m over the moon. Onesies are the hardest, and the item that I need to have plain the most, to go with the inevitably patterned pants. So, finding a long sleeved, solid colored onesie in my daughter’s size for under a dollar was like hitting the jackpot.
Here it is, nothing fancy. That’s why I love it (ignore the drool).
The pants were a gift, and part of a set (shocker) but the boots & unbearably cute hoodie/vest are Thrifted. I really feel like most kid’s stuff should have ears. Arrow headband handmade by yours truly.
THRIFTED: Dark (plain!) denim & reversible puffy vest are thrifted.
Wish I’d grabbed a pic of this on her, it was so cute.
PAR-TAY! This is my favorite of the looks, because HELLO, that vest! Same base look as the blue hoodie, just swap out the vests and headband, and she was all ready for her little cousin’s adoption party.
I’m kind of obsessed with tiny person fashion.
Check out my LITTLE LOVES Pinterest board.
I’m warning you though, it’ll make you want a little person to dress!
Happy thrifting, friends!
