Mommy Moments; Vintage Decor Vessels

As I’m un-decking the halls, I decided to share a few new-to-me pieces of decor with you all before they are retired until November 30th, 2015. I added them to my holiday decor this year after finding them at Thrift Town, and they quickly became some of my favorite pieces, as well as received some of the most comments from our guests this season.

I must admit I have a thing for vintage toolboxes, so when I came across this one, I had to make it mine. This piece may actually find it’s way into a few other holidays this year as it’s very versatile having four small square openings where you could place many fun things. As you can see below, I filled the spaces with bright red poinsettias. However, you could fill them with Easter Eggs in spring complete with some live or fake grass.

I placed the toolbox on my mantle and it made for a great focal piece. Here’s a wider shot:

The next pieces are really the same thing, just used in two different ways. I found both of these at Thrift Town for $3.99 each! Screaming deal! I wasn’t sure at the time what I was going to do with them, but I’ve learned that if something catches my eye, to but it before someone else does. These metal tubs can have many uses. You can see here I used them as vessels for a fake tree top (salvaged from a fake tree that had seen better times), and again to display some beautiful poinsettias. However, these would be fun at parties as a drink display, in the yard as flower pots, or even as a magazine holder! The sky is the limit and I so happy they are mine!

BTW, the vintage Santa and books were all from Thrift Town too!

You never know what treasures await you at Thrift Town! Just remember if you don’t grab it, someone else will…

Happy thrifting!
