Hello 2015!! With the arrival of a new year comes a new COLOR of the year! The Pantone color institute has deemed marsala the color for 2015 which is described as “reddish with strong brown undertones”. In clothing and décor, marsala seems to range from being more reddish and bright to a deeper, darker purple. I decided to see what marsala-colored items I could find at Thrift Town and here are four ways to wear it:

Concept 1 –Pullover Sweater

I found a loose fitting marsala-colored knit sweater for $3.99. I paired it with a black skirt, scarf, tights and knee highs. Super simple. Super comfortable.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Concept 2 - Accessories

Thrift Town has a wide selection of scarfs, hats, and gloves! I found a loose weave, ruffled marsala-colored infinity scarf ($4.99) that I absolutely love. The scarf contrasts well with another TT find, a lacy, ivory colored blouse for $2.99! I also found a pair of gloves that can bring a splash of color to dark outerwear; a bargain at just $0.99.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Concept 3 – Tunic Top

I love the simplicity of a tunic top and leggings outfit. I found a marsala inspired tunic top for $2.99 and paired it with my favorite leggings, lacy socks and combat boots. A simple and trendy look!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Concept 4 - Cardigan

A cardigan is great for creating a layered outfit. I found a marsala-colored knitted cardigan that is perfect for topping off an outfit of your choice! The cardigan was only $3.99.
