New Year New You!

Happy New Year to everyone!!! Can you believe that it’s 2015? Time flies by way too fast sometimes, but I have to say that I am enjoying every single moment of it. 2014 was quite the spectacular year for me and I am incredibly humbled by all of the unique experiences I was fortunate to be a part of. I continued to grow the Dress Fiend, had multiple TV segments, was published in the Sacramento Business Journal, Sacramento Parent Magazine and was named Best Faith in Vintage Fashion in the Sacramento News and Review’s Best of Sacramento issue! To say I am beyond humbled doesn’t even cut it. I’m tearing up right now just typing about it!

When I think of the year to come I think of the catch phrase, ‘New Year, New You.’ Last year I did a TV segment with Good Day Sacramento titled that and showcased a ton of looks that I felt would be great for people getting back into the work force, looking for different opportunities, or just wanted a face lift on their existing work attire. In my opinion, one of the key elements for being successful is looking your best and most importantly, professional. I’m all for individuality, but it needs to be tasteful and classy when at work or looking for new work. Now it doesn’t always have to be a suit these days, but remember to incorporate pieces into your wardrobe that don’t reveal too much, are tasteful, and PROFESSIONAL. Below you will find 4 different outfit ideas that I think are good work option looks!:

Look #1:

United Colors of Benetton wool trench coat/ Thrift Town/ $29.99

Let me just say that investing in a timeless piece is ALWAYS a good idea. In the cooler months you need to have yourself a stylish coat and this United Colors of Benetton wool black trench will be in style yesterday, today, and forever. Thrift Town has an amazing selection of coats right now. Go check them out for your perfect winter coat!

Look #2:

Vintage 50’s dress, Bananna Republic cardigan, & fresh water pearl strand/Thrift Town/$15.99, $9.99, & $5.99

I love love love mixing vintage with contemporary pieces. This very tasteful vintage dress pairs lovely with the Bananna Republic cardigan. Though the dress has a pretty graphic print, I find it very professional and fun! Add a strand of pearls and you are set!

Look #3:

Bananna Republic silk blouse, scarf, no name floral purple skirt, and leather boots/All from Thrift Town, but the scarf/$7.99, $3.99, & $15.99

For a more casual office look, try a look like this. The shirt on it’s own is a little boring, but add a tasteful scarf and you look very polished. To me, the winter months call for an array of stylish boots and these dark brown leather ones and perfect.

Look #4:

Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress & pearl strand/Thrift Town/$15.99 & $5.99

Ok, I think everyone and their mom knows I adore a wrap dress and this beautiful Diane von Furstenberg wrap is amazing! The addition of pearls definitely gives it a more work vibe. This look would even look good with the above Bananna Republic sweater in look #2. PS: The SF Thrift Town is where I find a ton of my designer pieces like this DVF. Next time you are in SF make sure to check out the store!

I hope that everyone had a fantastic New Year and may you have a prosperous year ahead! Cheers to 2015!!!

Love,
