Mommy Moments; DIY 3-Tiered Metal Stand

I came across this adorable vintage inspired metal stand while thumbing through the catalog mailer this particular big box retail store sends out. It was on sale for $55.

It’s fab, I get that, but $55? I felt I could recreate this for much less. So I did. First stop, Thrift Town. Where I grabbed an assortment of metal pans and candlestick-like items in order to build my metal stand. Each item cost no more than $2.

I also got some supplies to stage the stand with for my Thrifty Thursday segment on Good Day Sacramento. This way I can give people an idea on what they could use the stand for; a homework station, food display, or party supplies.

Once you get your pieces together and do a dry run through on assembly, you will need to secure the tiers in place using a strong adhesive. I recommend fabri-tac; mainly because that’s what I had on-hand! However, Gorilla Glue, or even a strong hot-glue will work for this, as long as it adheres to metal.

Once secured into place, decorate to your hearts content. I use mine as a homework station, and every once and awhile as a cupcake rack for parties.

I think it came out pretty cute, and for under $10!

Here’s the segment link as seen on Good Day Sacramento’s Thrifty Thursday:
