Mommy Moments; 5 Easy and Beautiful Holiday Decoration Ideas

Posted on by Gina      No Comments

It’s in my blood. I go all out decorating for the holidays because that’s what my mom did, that’s what her mom did, and that’s what her mom’s mom did. I come by it naturally. However, using the same decorations year after year though can get boring, and since my decorating budget is very tight (mainly because my husband doesn’t understand why on earth I cannot find what I need in the hundreds of boxes stored in our garage), I decided to see what Thrift Town had to offer, and let me tell you, it got my creative juices flowing!

If you follow my Thrifty Thursday segments on Good Day Sacramento, or my blog posts, you know I can’t resist a cute little mason jar. This year was no exception. Pop some battery operated lights in and you’ve got yourself a fun decor piece for a book shelf, table, or even restroom counter.

The same could be done using these fancy decanters I found in the houseware department. Love how the light plays off the crystal.

The next idea literally can’t get any easier. Find a thrifted vase, throw in some vintage light bulbs, and you’ve got yourself a fun piece again for a book shelf, counter, or table centerpiece.

Thrift Town has bags of ornaments for sale. You can use them on your tree of course, in an ornament garland, or to decorate a tray at a holiday party like we did here. I got the tray and the wine glasses at Thrift Town as well.

I needed a centerpiece for my dinner table. I found a beautiful wreath in amazing condition at Thrift Town, as well as a large candlestick. My door decor was already covered, so I decided to use the wreath as the centerpiece with the candlestick in the center.

Here’s a few of the looks all put together. Everything you see with the exception of the shelf was found at Thrift Town. PS: I love the vintage Santa we found!

Happy thrifting!
