A Thrifted Fashion Show and a Fabulous Thrift Tour!
This past month has been filled with an abundance of fashionable excitement! On top of my blog life, I also dabble in fashion shows and thrift tours. My passion for the thrifted fashion continues to grow and along with that comes new and exciting ventures.
I have been so lucky and grateful to have Thrift Town by my side and supporting much of my thrifted endeavors these past couple of years. Sometimes people, places, and things come into your life and change it for the better. The day I met Gina from Thrift Town on Good Day Sacramento would forever change the course of my life. I can honestly say with all my heart that I care for each and every one of the Thrift Town employees, from the owner to the amazing staff over at the El Camino store and SF! I can see the passion in their eyes and commitment to making our world a better place through thrifting. It’s places like Thrift Town that reinforce why I’m so passionate about thrifting to begin with. They not only give back to the community, help reduce waste in the landfill, but also continue to produce excellent thrifted items for very reasonable prices. They are a gem in my book.
This past month I did a wonderful charity fashion show at Lucca Restaurant benefitting Breast Cancer Awareness Month. On top of that, I also hosted and organized a fun and fabulous Thrift Tour. For both events, Thrift Town was there supporting. The charity fashion show was pink themed of course and many of the looks I showed came from Thrift Town. Not only is the store great for finding designer labels, but it’s also incredible for vintage. I mean, how amazing is this 60’s jacket?!
Another little secret about Thrift Town is that they have an excellent selection for men’s clothing. This wool double-breasted jacket is stunning and made in Italy.
The Thrift Tour was by far one of the best days I’ve had in a while! I was so thrilled to share my love, knowledge, and passion for thrifting to the lovely 40+ people that came on the bus.
Thrift Town was our 3rd stop on the bus tour and everyone was thrilled with what they found. I feel it really opened their eyes to the endless possibilities of what you can actually find second hand! And for very reasonable prices I might add! I cannot wait to host another tour in February.
Again, a big thank you to Thrift Town and all of their amazing staff for being the bright and shinny thrifted stars they are. Without you guys my fashion show and thrift tour would not have been as successful as they were!
Do you have any thrift or fashion questions? Please feel free to ask away! I live for fashion and helping others become in the inner fashionistas they’ve always wanted to be…
Until next time… Love, The Dress Fiend

She’s a bona fide thrift store junkie obsessed with finding the most amazing items for next to nothing and can be seen monthly on Good Day Sacramento showcasing some of her favorite thrifted finds. When she’s not out searching for the next hidden treasure thrifting, she’s at the Crocker Art Museum working in the Special Events department. Aside from her passion for thrifted fashion, she also enjoys photography, art, running, and gelato. I mean, doesn’t everyone love gelato. You can find her at thedressfiend.com
