Tribal Tennies!

The shoe section at Thrift Town is one of my favorite spots! There are hundreds of shoes to choose from which is why taking your time to find the right pair is very necessary. They have everything from boots, running shoes, sandals, dress shoes and much more. I’ve lucked out a few times in this department finding Doc Martins, Birkenstocks, and now Vans! These Vans I found, that I included in my last blog (All Black Everything) look as if they’ve never been worn, which I’m pretty sure they haven’t…!!! I was pretty stoked on this find, especially because they were my size and only $15!! Compared to 50… how amazing!

Now, I have multiple black shoes, so with these Vans I wanted to do something special. That’s when I had the idea to decorate them with Tribal print! There’s only one super easy step to make whatever design you’d like!

First buy any color fabric puff paint so that your design will stay on the shoes permanently. Looks like this-

Ali Futrell lives in San Francisco and attends the San Francisco Art Institute. She loves DIY projects and anything involving fashion or art. Being a starving student, she has come to realize thrifting is a great way to save money yet still look fashionable, and Thrift Town makes that possible! :)

  1. Love this Makeover! I always hit the shoe section too at my local thrift shops. Sometimes you can score some designer names!
