Mommy Moments; Dorm Room Decor Using Washi Tape!

Posted on by Gina      No Comments

If you went to college and lived in a dorm, you know that the pretty picture Pottery Barn paints of a dorm room is not reality, at least for 99.9% of us. In reality many college students don’t have the funds to splurge on all brand new items, and dorm accessories and decor is temporary. I decided to try and dress up a few dorm room decor items using washi tape.

Washi tape is pretty cool because it’s very decorative, it sticks well to most items, and it’s temporary. You can remove it without it leaving any sort of sticky residue or stains. This makes it a perfect choice when it comes to decorating a temporary space, like a dorm room.

I grabbed an assortment of items that one may find in a dorm room as decor pieces or desk accessories. Let’s start with the desk items.

I picked out the washi tape I wanted to use and started peeling and sticking.

Came out pretty cute!

Next I decided to dress up a phone charger. We all have them, and they all look the same. Not any more! *Don’t put the tape near the electrical part of the charger where it plugs into the wall.

Finally I grabbed some inexpensive vases at Thrift Town and dressed them up a bit with Washi tape as well.

Ta da…

Super easy and fun to do. Plus you can change it up at any time! Remember when buying washi tape to use your coupons! I got mine at Joann’s for half off!
