Special Occasion Dress
Romance, proposal, rings, invitations, flowers, dresses, tuxedos, Mr. & Mrs……..yep, there’s going to be a wedding! My cousin is getting married this weekend and I am so excited to be a part of it! I definitely needed a new dress to wear to the rehearsal dinner, so my first stop was Thrift Town to see if by any chance I could find something that would work for this special occasion. I must say that Thrift Town did not disappoint!
When I arrived at Thrift Town, I went straight to the back of the store where the “better” dresses are kept. I pushed past the wedding dresses, past the prom dresses, past the maxi dresses……and what did I find? A charcoal grey and black, lined Max Studio dress! I love the detailing of Max Studio dresses and especially this one with the textured, stretchy, linen fabric, fitted waist, swingy hemline, faux leather trim and exposed back zipper. I was shocked to see that the original tags were still on the dress showing a price of $120……Thrift Town price….just $15.99! Wow!
This dress could not be any more perfect with the above-the-knee length and the totally comfortable fit, but there is yet another bonus……it also matches the color of the bridesmaid dresses!
My “finds” for the day did not end there. I also decided to look in the jewelry case to see if there were any items that caught my eye. I spotted a stunning pair of opal earrings. At first I wasn’t sure if I should buy these beauties because I have really sensitive ears that get irritated with low quality metals. The earrings were priced at $20 so I hoped that meant they were better quality. I totally splurged and am really happy with the purchase. The earrings don’t bother my ears AT ALL and I LOVE the shimmering, sparkle of the earrings….a big win in my book!
The end product is the Max Studio dress, opal earrings and strappy black sandals that I already owned. If I wasn’t in the wedding party, I would definitely wear this outfit to the wedding itself. With wedding season in full swing, stop by Thrift Town and see what you can find for your special occasion.
