Decked Out Denim
Looking for denim at Thrift Town is one of my favorite things to shop for! First of all, because it’s so easy to find what I’m looking for, and secondly because its super cheap! To go along with one of my previous blogs all about DIY Lace shorts, I have a few more ideas to share! Some designs are easier than others but still rock the summer fashions.
STYLE #1- Basic Boyfriend Shorts
These shorts are supposed to fit bigger (buy a size larger than normal) and hang at the hips. They aren’t supposed to be snug, just loose with a few tears for the distressed look. Match with some converse, or boots and you’ve got a super causal boyfriend look!
STYLE #2- Bleach Faded Shorts
There’s only two steps for these trendy shorts! First cut them off, add some tears if you want, then get your bleach ready- use a bucket of water halfway full, add enough bleach to turn the first few inches of the shorts white, hang them in the bucket, gradually add more water so that the water ratio is greater than the bleach to help fade the beach up the shorts. Wear them with any summer tank and sandals!
STYLE #3- Super Stud Denim
First step to make this cute style, cut your jeans to a desired length, draw with a ruler and pencil lines down one side of the shorts, then about every inch place a stud for this awesome look! Also add a few to the back pocket to spice it up! Wear with almost anything (I wear these ALL the time because they make just a normal outfit THAT much better!).
STYLE #4- Vintage Floral Print
To get the “vintage” look, buy a floral fabric of your choice then cut out the shape of one side, then sew it on! These look great for the summer with almost everything to add a little bit of flare to any denim!
STYLE #5- Tribal Print
Lastly, one of my favorite styles that is a bit more time consuming, but in the end so worth it! This involves the bleaching process like in style #2 and after they’ve been bleached and washed, you’ll need a fabric marker to draw on this tribal print. I love the pattern on these, feel free to even add a little color! But the black goes the best with everything!
