HOW TO: FOURTH FASHION
The Fourth of July is a special time of year when it comes to fashion.
Why? Because any other time, if you get too much red white and blue
together in one ensemble, it can look a little silly. Like you’re trying
to be patriotic in November. For no reason. But the Fourth of July?
DO IT UP! And stand in front of a giant flag when you do, why not??
Here’s a shot of my look from last 4th with the ever-stylish (co-Thrift Town
blogger) Phoebe. It was WAY hot out so we’re both keeping it cool in our own
totally thrifted ways.
I love combining textures and patterns within a color scheme.
Especially when you can do it with a bright POP!
This dress was $3.99 at Thrift Town and I wore it earlier in the holiday
weekend last year. Not only is it an awesome pattern, it’s a REVERSIBLE
dress! I wore it with the abstract floral on the outside to show off the
red spots, but year round, I layer this dress with either side out.
Of course if you don’t want to wear your colors on blast for the day,
you can also go simple and understated. This navy/white stretch
dress is just simple and comfy. Add a red ring or necklace and
you’re still in the spirit without getting too wild.
As much as I was hoping my little baby would arrive before the
holiday weekend, alas, she is quite comfy where she is and I’m still
house-sized. Guess these tiny $1.99 sandals will have to wait til
next year to get some holiday action.
