Sweet Summer Shirts
Summer is here which means it’s time for some chic shirts! I found quite a few on my last trip to Thrift Town, and thought that a couple of them could use a little something.
I bought this rad grey top at Thrift Town for $2.99!
It laces up the back!
I also bought this dress that was just a little bit too short, so I made it into a cute grey halter top.
I cut it to the length that I wanted and then cut a square out of the back out of the shirt. I left two strips in the back so that it would tie closed. For added support, I sewed a bra into the top. For a final touch, I cut the tassels off of a scarf and sewed them onto the front bottom hem of the halter.
I also bought this cute blue crochet halter top for $3, but I thought that it would be more flattering at a shorter length.
First, I cut the top right under the bust (I thought that a new seam would be the least conspicuous here). I liked the edge on the bottom of the shirt, so I used the bottom third of the remaining fabric. I then sewed the new fabric right under the bust and now it is much more flattering!
I used the leftover fabric to make a tank top that was too small so that it fit better!
The first thing that I had to do was pop the seams down the sides of the shirt. I sewed my leftover crochet into the sides and now it fits better and it’s more unique!
I hope that you guys enjoyed my blog this week!
