4th of July style with a twist

Posted on by Phoebe      No Comments

The 4th of July is just around the corner (a week to be exact) and I got to thinking about a different spin to the traditional red, white, and blue attire I’ve seen in years past. Red, white, and blue are such great colors together and I wanted to see what I could find at Thrift Town that brought a new and creative light to the typical 4th of July wear.

Ok, for my first look I found the most spectacular red and white striped dress from Thrift Town! ($9.99) and paired it with my favorite vintage red, white, and blue scarf. The dress is so flattering and stripes are always popular. And you have to have an amazing pair of espadrilles, straw purse, and pearls to go with the look! Charles David shoes, straw purse, and pearls all from Thrift Town ($5.99, $2.99, & $1.99)

For a more Bohemian look, I found the most AHH-mazing white lace dress from Thrift Town! ($15.99) I have been searching for a white lace dress for a long time and leave it to the thrifting gods to place the perfect dress in my favorite store. Again, my vintage scarf plays a key role in this look - but hey it’s red, white, blue, and perfect for all my looks. Again, I’m telling you that espadrilles are the key ingredients here for the 4th of July looks. These Charles David ones from Thrift Town go with so much! For the twist on the 4th looks, a fun and flirty lace dress like this one is perfect. And look at the open back?!

So, this look I love! I think I like it so much because it’s totally going outside of my realm. I am The Dress Fiend after all and find myself wearing dresses about 90% of the time, but these stylish skinny jean overalls were such a great find. Lovin’ my vintage scarf, too. I’m telling you, scarves are the perfect summer accessory! I’ve paired this look with the red Charles David shoes from Thrift Town and the pearls as well.

Lastly for my 4th of July styles with a twist, I decided to pick a fun outfit for a male friend of mine. I have been a big fan of his seersucker jacket and how nicely was it paired with the salmon colored collared undershirt? And the red, white, and blue paisley Christian Dior tie found at Thrift Town ($6.99) had me jumping for joy when I found it. The tie is so classic, yet paired with the jacket and salmon colored shirt seemed modern and youthful. TIP: Thrift Town has a phenomenal tie selection! I was so impressed by all the designer silk ties made in Italy! Makes me want to start wearing them.

I hope you enjoyed my 4th of July styles with a twist! Do you have any styling or thrifting questions? PLEASE feel free to write me on here. I am here to help and teach you all my thrifting ways! A big Happy 4th of July to everyone next week!

Until next time…

Love,
