TINY TOOTSIES
Tiny things are cuter than not tiny things. It’s a proven fact. Items that you would never think to consider adorable at a regular size suddenly induce a cooing high-pitched tone when looking at it miniturized.
So ESPECIALLY when it’s something already lust-worthy like shoes - tiny versions are just going to be irresistible. So much so that our normally sensible logic doesn’t even factor in. News flash: babies can’t walk. And we totally don’t care. Cause little shoes make us squeal and that’s what matters.
The thing about department stores is they know you can’t resist the baby shoes and they charge just as much for them as adult shoes, even though they’re 1/5 the size.
This is one more reason thrift rocks. When babies aren’t even walking in the shoes, they grow out of them and they’re still in great shape. And at $0.99-$3.99 a pair, that’s what I’d prefer to pay for something totally unnecessary.
This pair was brand new, with cute pattern and leather insoles. Swanky baby status.
Most of the time, I just want my little one to be cozy (while cute), so pink slippers are perfect. $0.99
Just got out of the bath? Pretty sure we need different slippers for that.
My soon-to-be-born daughter already has quite the shoe collection, that grows by the week… And then a friend texts me last night: she’s at Thrift Town and couldn’t resist getting these for my little miss.
And really, who am I to say no to pink tennies?? I’m down to the wire with my baby coming any day now, which means I’m at home just organizing large tiny shoe collections. Rough life.
Are you expecting? What’s your favorite thrifted baby item to binge-buy?
