Finding jeans for $2, cutting them into jean shorts, and then decorating them has always been a thing of mine. And it could easily be a thing of yours too! In a previous blog I’ve showed you how to cut jeans and make them look distressed. That would be a helpful tip to add to these! There are tons and tons of ways to decorate jean shorts, but today ill show you one of my favorite ways.

What you need:

Black, white, or colored lace ($3-$5)

Jeans from Thrift Town ($2-$5)

Scissors

Sewing machine

Pins

1. To start cut off the legs of the jeans at a preferred length

2. Cut the shape of the pocket out of the lace

3. Pin the lace on the designated area to secure it while sewing

4. Sew on the lace with thread that matches

5. Add slits to a part without lace for a distressed look

Adding a lace detail makes all the difference! It creates an elegant yet beachy look to wear almost all summer! Show us your projects by tagging @thrifttown ! Can’t wait to see! :)
