Bits and Pieces

Twice a month, I bring you head to toe looks that I have put together at the Thrift Town in Albuquerque, NM. I spend hours shopping, trying on, and then styling the look right at the store.

Today, I am featuring bits and pieces of clothing that I have bought at Thrift Town and incorporated into my own wardrobe. SHHH…don’t tell anyone that it’s not a head to toe thrifted look, it’s our little secret. ;-)

Let’s start off with a picture of my derriere shall we?

These are one of my favorite items I ever bought at Thrift Town. Can you say Michael Kors black’ track’ pants for $7.99? LOVE THEM! These pants are snug, so I can only wear them when I’m feeling ‘skinny’ which happens maybe twice a year.

I thrifted these next five items during a 50% off sale day. I love how often Thrift Town has these sales.

Next up, check out this White House Black Market geometric print skirt I got for only $5.00!

The shirt, cardigan and jewelry are actually from the WHBM boutique in Uptown. If only I had discovered thrifting sooner, I would have saved my husband so much money. Sorry honey!

Now, let’s check out this business look I put together.

This is an Ellen Tracy jacket that I got for $4.00! Unbelievable, huh!

Next up is my second favorite item from Thrift Town…

I got this Levi’s denim jacket…Brand New With Tags for…drumroll please…$8.00!! I have worn this jacket many times on my whosaprettygirl fashion blog. Here I am showing it with a cluster of pins. I saw this idea on Pinterest.

How about a look from Banana Republic?

I scored this Merino wool sweater for $2.00. I didn’t notice until I got home that there was a teeny, tiny hole right up front. I solved that problem by wearing a scarf!

Last, but not least…

this Ralph Lauren tunic sweatshirt for $5.00.

When I tried it on in the store I discovered a dirty kleenex in the pocket… EWWW!!

I paid less than $32.00 for all six of these bits and pieces of clothing. That just blows my mind!

FYI: If you’re still old like my husband…60+…you get the 30% off discount every Monday at your local Thrift Town store. Happy Thrifting!!

Darlene Fadem is a wife and mother with two sons in college. She’s OBVIOUSLY over 50, hence the name Thrifty Over 50. She admits to being a label hunter when thrifting, but pleads the fifth to everything else. ;) When she’s not thrifting she is teaching five year olds how to read, write and be fashionable!
