DRESSES: WINNING AT CHEATING.

PULLED TOGETHER? SUUURE.

Some days you wake up and the birds are singing, you feel fabulous, have a ton of energy, cute clothes that make you feel amazing, and wake up early, ready to take on the world.

Yeah, YOU might have days like that…. I don’t remember the last time I had one of those miraculous days. As I grow bigger in baby-ness, I grow more tired, and less apt to do anything impressive before noon. But I still have plenty that has to happen before noon.

Liiiike getting dressed and running a business. I’ve posted quite a few of my preggo outfits here on the Thrift Town blog that are all pulled together and cutesy. Then there’s the other days.

I’ve decided that dresses are my friend. And (especially if you’re pregnant) they should be yours too. This $2.99 brown maxi dress is so comfy, and I just added this cute long sleeve top (featured a few weeks ago) to cover up the spaghetti straps for running the shop.

I had a booth at a fun Baby Expo, meeting fellow mommas & talking about our Mommy Makeovers. And totally cheating on my own outfit the whole time. Like a cheating cheaterpants. Minus the pants.

$4.99 grey maxi dress + $1.99 vest (to cover up straps without being too warm). Skinny belt to not look like a big grey blob, and headband + chic side braid: cause I hit snooze 3 times and washing my hair lost the happening-lottery.

I had a TV appearance to make and wait, we’re going on air at WHAT time?! 6am? With 40 min drive and full setup… So up at 3:30/4am. Surprise, surprise: I cheated again. Dress + wedges. Done. Threw on a dash of red lipstick and a cuff to make it outfit-y like an adult.

Had to run around town with my team for a whole day, shopping for clients, and this thrifted dress is now easily my favorite go-to. Skinny belt + tall flat black boots and I was stretchy comfy all day. (Isn’t this sign adorably perfect??)

I almost laugh at the compliments on my cheater looks… cause it was way less effort to think up or put on than most other looks. So listen up, preggo mommas: you don’t have to be buying expensive “maternity tops” and bottoms and try to coordinate a pulled together look every day. It’s exhausting and unnecessary.

It’s gonna be getting warm soon. Go to Thrift Town, find some simple stretchy dresses, a few skinny belts and call it a day (and enjoy the compliments on your maternity style).
