BEE-LINE TO A-LINE.
We haven’t even hit Valentine’s day yet, I’m well aware. But this GORGEOUS weather
(ok, it’s a drought, but we’re going to be positive!) has got me in the springtime fashion
mood. One of the big trends for this spring is high-waisted A-line skirts.
So feminine, retro and classy, there are so many adorable ways to
wear an A-Line skirt… as I looked back through my fashion blogger
archives, I realized how much I actually love and embrace the silhouette.
Here’s a look at some of my favorites, and some ideas for
styling your soon-to-be- IT pieces for the spring.
I may actually have an obsession with thrifted floral A-Line skirts.
Might be time for an intervention (this isn’t even all of them).
One of my very first posts as a thrift fashion blogger: a floral A-Line skirt
I handmade from thrifted sheets, paired with my favorite vintage
burgundy boots & a striped/ruffled top. All Thrift Town.
My styling company’s events coordinator, Ruthann rocks her A-Line, all-thrifted
outfit (oh those vintage heels!), never one to shy away from fab color combinations.
The A-line silhouette is great to accentuate that coveted hourglass look. Even if
that’s not your shape, the lines bring your waist in and create the balanced look.
Ruffled cotton tank, braided sandals & dress I converted into an A-line.
All thrifted, all comfy, all spring-lovely.
I put this look together inspired by an outfit my friend Sandy was wearing.
Love the bit of rocker edge to a still very feminine look.
When putting together a look, start with your point of interest
(awesome crocheted top) and pull colors from there. One of
my favorite color combinations: pink-coral, slate grey & creme.
Don’t be afraid to mix & match patterns. Pick one larger dominant pattern
(roses here), and add a simple, consistent smaller print. Quirky and wonderful.
