HOW TO ROCK THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS

Posted on by Kari      No Comments

RELAX. YOU DESERVE IT.

When you’re little, Santa does all the presents, and parents handle holiday food. Decor is fun to help with as a kid, but you don’t have to pick it all out, pay for it and put it up. Let me just say, being an adult at Christmas is EXHAUSTING.

The lists, deciding on and purchasing the gifts, working your butt off at your job to afford the gifts, planning & preparing the food… the list goes on and on. As much fun as I had on Christmas, and as gratifying as it was to see my large family open and enjoy the gifts I bought and/or made them, I am stoked it’s all done and I can RELAX.

So here’s my thrifted guide to giving yourself a
break after the insanity that is Christmas.

Start out in comfies. Leggings and long tunic tops are my go-to when I need to be around people but want to be pajamas-comfortable. This whole jolly look: from Thrift Town and under $20 all together.

Take a moment or 2 to just sit, breathe and enjoy all the work you put in to making your house adorably festive. (Thrifted cardinal ornament: $0.99)

Holiday mugs are a must, and so easy to find at Thrift Town.
Fill with your favorite hot chocolate (or hot toddy!) and you’re set.

Snuggly day isn’t complete without snuggly blankets. Quilts, blankets & throw pillows are a simple way to add holiday flair and a bit of homey comfort for you and guests.

These books never get old. Whether you’re a big kid yourself, or grabbing a little one to enjoy it with, holiday down time is perfect for interactive books like this. Pennies on the dollar at Thrift Town versus buying them new.

Aren’t these thrifted vintage soup cups fun??

Don’t worry, I never forget treats.
These thrifted wine glasses are perfect for a tabletop candy display.

Once you’ve relaxed, DIY activities are always fun. I found this gem for my mom while thrifting, and we went through it plotting out the fun stuff we’re going to make together.

I hope you follow at least some of my advice and RELAX
a bit after making Christmas awesome for everyone.

How do you rock your after-holidays?
