Mommy Moments DIY Bar Stool Turned Wrapping Paper Station
I came across a pin on Pinterest that turned an old bar stool into a portable wrapping paper station and thought to myself, what an amazing idea! When I go to wrap presents, it normally goes a little like this: wrapping paper is bent because it was shoved in a cabinet too small to accommodate the roll size. Tissue paper is crumpled to the point of me having to throw it away. My daughter has hijacked the tape again, and the only scissors I can find are my son’s rounded tip pair he used back in pre-school. Sound familiar? If so, do what I did. Check it out:
I went to Thrift Town and found a thrifty bar stool. Granted this one was actually nicer than the one I had in mind, but it was the only one that had the bones needed to make this project, so I snagged it for $5.99. The first thing I did was tear the leather off the seat of the stool, and spray painted it a brown (I know, boring, but it was the only color I had on-hand. If you do it, spray it with a color that makes you happy!). You will be turning the stool upside down for this project whereby the seat of the stool will now be your project base.
I then attached wheels to the seat of the stool, allowing me to easily move my station to whatever room I’m wrapping gifts in. I got these at Home Depot for a few bucks.
I then attached a cloth craft storage system to two of the stool’s sides. The storage piece was too large, so I cut it in half, and used my blinged out staple gun to attach to the stool’s legs. You could also use a shoe organization system too. I would just go with whatever is cheaper. This is where I store ribbon, gift cards, markers, tape, ruler, basically everything you need in order to wrap your gift! I then screwed in a hook onto one of the unused stool sides. This is perfect for hanging handle bags.
The remaining side is the perfect size to store tissue paper. Fold it in half and simply lay it over the rung. Simple!
Finally, the center of the stool serves as your wrapping paper roll storage. Brilliant!

I love this project. It honestly has made wrapping gifts so much easier and I encourage you to create it before tackling all your holiday wrapping!
Happy thrifting!
