Black Maxi Skirt: Evening

Surprise! It’s another look featuring my White Stag black maxi skirt. This time I styled it for a night out with my hubby!

If you remember correctly from my last post, I picked up this White Stag black maxi skirt ($7.99) during my last trip to Thrift Town in ABQ,NM. I went casual with the skirt the first time around , pairing it with a Lands End hot pink tee shirt and zhuzhing it up with a scarf. You should go check it out ….WAIT! not yet…finish reading this post first! ;) Under the black maxi skirt I am once again wearing the black, long,Vassarette brand slip ($2.99).There is nothing worse than worrying about whether or not someone can see through your skirt! Wearing a slip alleviates that worry.

Let’s talk about my most favorite thing I have ever bought at Thrift Town…this White House Black Market bustier! Isn’t it beautiful…sigh… :) White House Black Market is a high end clothing boutique that started out selling clothing in ONLY black and white. Nowadays, it adds several colors each season that coordinate beautifully back to the basic black and white. Before I discovered Thrift Town…White House Black Market was my store of choice. Here’s something you don’t know about me…at one point I used to work there! Why? Because they give a 40% off discount to their employees! But enough about me…

This WHBM bustier was only $7.99…an unbelievable price! It retails around $100.00… AND this wasn’t the only bustier from White House Black Market that I found at Thrift Town that day! Too bad for me though…the other one was too small. :( Once again I wore my black patent ballet flats from Lucky Brand that I got for only $9.99. They go with everything I tell ya! I added a black stone chunky bracelet ($3.99) to finish the look.

Of course every evening look needs an evening bag…and this bag was only $4.99!

Total cost of this look? $37.94 minus the senior discount (30% off every Monday for ages 60+) =$26.56

She admits to being a label hunter when thrifting, but pleads the fifth to everything else. ;) When she’s not thrifting she is teaching five year olds how to read, write and be fashionable!
